Here’s a new idea (from me): Six of The Best from an upcoming motorcycle auction.

This time it’s the Charterhouse Classic & Vintage Motorcycle Auction on 3 October 2024 at the Haynes International Motor Museum, Sparkford, Somerset BA22 7LH. The auction will also be live online

The auctioneer, George Beale of Charterhouse, said, “We have another great selection of 140 motorcycles dating from a 1912 Humber to a 2019 Kawasaki. From unreserved bikes to rides estimated at £50,000 there is something for all pockets.”

Here’s our Six Of The Best (in no particular order):

Early trail bike 1970 Honda SL175. Estimate £1750-£2000. Imported in 2021. Recent work includes rebore and new piston. With V5C

Lord of the Manor 1982 Hesketh V1000. Estimate £10000-£12000. Dry stored since 1995. Recommissioned with lots of work including many new parts. MoT until March 2025. Full paperwork

Old Boy 1912 Humber 2hp. Estimate £8000-£9000. Very rare original model fitted with the Armstrong 3-speed rear hub. Believed to be the only one in existence. Eligible for the Pioneer Run

Elsie Tonner 1981 Yamaha RD 350 LC. Estimate £6000-£7000. Original unrestored machine said to be in ‘very nice’ condition

Racing legend c.1956/7 Norton Manx 500. Estimate £20000-£22000. Original matching numbers machine. Restored by respected Manx specialist

Lot for the money 2010 BMW R1200GS Adventure TU. Estimate £4500-£5500. 13,200 recorded miles. One owner from new. Huge spec. MoT May 2025
